Early rain in the east clearing this morning, although may linger for much of the day across northeast Scotland. Otherwise widespread showers developing, with the showers heavy and thundery in places.

One of the police officers involved in the arrest of Henry Nowak has resigned, according to Hampshire Police. A spokesperson said: "Three of the officers are still serving, one officer has resigned.
